Assessment Appeals

We can save our clients money.
In the Event of a Tax Grievance…

Our services not only include real estate appraisals. They extend into the tax grievance process, meaning if you feel you are paying too much real estate property taxes and want to file an appeal.

As part of this service, we personally go to the local Board-of-Appeals and file all paperwork necessary for a proper grievance, including making sure your Appeal is executed in a timely manner, i.e. before the date(s) that are prescribed by a given town/city/municipality.

We service Westchester County, NY, Fairfield County CT, New Haven County CT, Litchfield County, CT.

Each town in every locale has different dates they set aside for filing tax grievance appeals. As a Certified General Appraiser for both the State of New York, and the State of Connecticut, DP Appraisals keeps track of these important reassessment cycles — meaning the time(s) approximately every five years when real estate property tax is reassessed by individual towns.

For example, Westchester County, NY is generally in the middle of the year, e.g. May-June, while those towns not going into reassessment in Fairfield County, CT is February 22nd, and those towns that are going into reassessment, is a month later, March 22nd.

We make ourselves available to work on behalf our clients — for both businesses and homeowners — to reliably derive the valuation of a property to help make sure their tax appraisal is fair and any tax increases be kept to a minimum. We are also often instrumental in lowering our clients’ taxes.

Two recent success stories of ours netted a more than $60,000 savings for a local business, and nearly $20,000 savings for a homeowner.

Of course, it doesn’t hurt that DP Appraisals had longstanding rapport with many of these towns’ Board-of-Appeals.

And so it goes…

Let DP Appraisals work for you – and through – your next Assessment Appeal.
